What is Extended Benefits (EB)? – Oregon Employment Department
Extended Benefits (EB) is a program that extends regular Unemployment Insurance (UI) benefits when a state is at high unemployment. The average unemployment rate is reviewed over a 3-month period to determine if the state goes onto this extension. When that rate is 8% or higher, we are in HEB, and up to 20 additional weeks of benefits are provided. If it is below 8% but above 6.5%, then we are in EB, which provides up to 13 weeks of additional benefits.
